Auger Displacement
The system provides the added benefit of generating up to 90% less spoil compared to replacement system. This is an attractive factor where soils are contaminated or for urban sites where the cost and logistical difficulty involved in removing spoil is a consideration.
When first introduced the construction of bored displacement piles required the use of a heavy high torque piling rigs however recent improvements in design of displacement tooling now permits installation of bored displacement piles using smaller rigs, typically a 30 tonne rig can be used.
Foundation Piling Limited operates machines which can be used in the installation of both CFA and Displacement Piles thus permitting a mix and match design solution without incurring the additional cost of mobilising additional equipment.
Unfortunately this technique is not suited to use in all soil conditions and a careful assessment of ground conditions is required prior to its employment. We would be pleased to discuss any project in detail and provide an assessment of the suitability of ground conditions for Bored Displacement Piling.
